Drum Mower

£ POA

Description

Front mounted and PTO driven the drum mower is a special attachment that has blades attached to the base of one or two vertical drums that spin very fast, cutting the grass and leaving it in a row on the ground. These are predominately used for cutting grass for hay or silage for animals and are therefore used mainly in agricultural applications. However, they can be used for cutting wild flowers and light scrub in conservation areas where the material requires removing after mowing. Other than finger bar (sickle bar) mowers, the drum mower is the only other type of mower that leaves the cut material in long lengths, allowing it to be raked up or bailed. Riko drum mowers are available in 60 and 80cm cutting widths. The trailed seat attachment can be used but is not recommended.
